The St. Michael’s School Association (SMSA)
We hope that parents will get involved with our incredible parents’ body, the SMSA, which runs social events that bring us together as a community.
Money raised by the SMSA pays for ‘nice to haves’, for example the funding of 108 iPads in 2017, the improved drainage of the school playing field in 2016 and most recently the newly renovated Science Lab in 2024.
Introduction
As the fund-raising branch of St. Michael’s School, we enjoy organising social activities for both the children and the parents throughout the year. Annual organised fund-raising events include the Bonfire Night, Christmas Fair, Quiz Night, Footie Funday, Fun Run and Summer Fair.
The fact that we raise more than 10 times the national average for PTAs is testament to the wonderful enthusiasm and commitment of ALL the parents in the school, but in particular the committee of the SMSA. All parents and carers at the school are members of the SMSA and as members you are welcome to join any of our meetings throughout the year. We are always looking for new ideas so if you have one, please let us know!
The SMSA has a committee of volunteer parents and class representatives. This committee meets every term and an AGM is held at the end of the academic year when new committee officers are elected.
