Vision, Mission & Values
We place great importance on all of our school community understanding and living by our vision, mission and values.
“We believe our children’s future is created every day. Every moment counts.” Is brought to life through our mission: ‘To nurture and inspire our children to develop a love of learning in a supportive Christian community and become the best they can be.’ and underpinned by our values: Endurance | Forgiveness | Koinonia* | Creation | Friendship These values are the standards that drive our decisions and actions. * Koinonia is the Christian idea of fellowship and unity. 1 Peter 4:10 “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms” “We believe our children’s future is created every day. Every moment counts.” At St Michael’s, we believe that God entrusts every person with unique gifts meant to be poured out in love for the good of themselves and others. This conviction shapes our community, with every teacher, parent, adult, and child playing a part in shaping its future. This is grounded in the Christian understanding that every person is created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27) and gifted with unique potential and purpose. We are called to recognise, nurture, and grow these God-given gifts so that each child and adult can flourish with dignity and respect. We therefore commit to using every moment as an opportunity to deepen learning, strengthen character, support wellbeing, build relationships, and encourage service. This vision shapes our culture, curriculum, and daily practice. Our beautiful school site and carefully designed learning spaces embody our belief that environment shapes formation. Pupils and adults experience a community where they are known, valued, and encouraged to grow in wisdom, hope, love, and responsibility. Our curriculum is designed to stretch every learner, enabling them to recognise and develop their gifts, reflect deeply, and use their learning for the good of others. As a result, St Michael’s is a place where pupils show confidence, curiosity, compassion, and resilience. They understand that they are valued and capable. Staff share a common direction and a deep commitment to one another. Families recognise that St Michael’s is a place where children flourish, academically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually within a supportive and inspiring community. By working together in Christian fellowship – Koinonia, we can be faithful stewards of Creation. In recognition of our common humanity we strive to build Friendship with each other and live in peace with each other. We recognise that this is not easy and requires Endurance and the courage to show Forgiveness. We recognise that this take patience and practice in the knowledge that, “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13)Our vision
